Xtane is an oral medication produced by Natco Pharma which is based on the substance Exemestane (known as Aromasin). In the medical field, this medication is used a breast cancer treatment. In the fitness world, the drug is used by men who take steroids in order to stop their male hormones (androgens) from converting into female ones (estrogen). This conversion is called aromatization and can cause some unwanted side effects in the male body.
The action of Aromasin
Aromasin is able to stop the aromatization process that happens when androgenic steroids, such as Testosterone, Methandienone or Boldenone, are taken. When these steroids are used my men, the amount of testosterone in the body increases, however, the aromatase enzyme converts a lot of this testosterone into estrogen which causes estrogenic side effects such as gynecomastia, water retention and acne. Exemestane is an aromatase inhibitor (AI), which means it binds to the aromatase enzyme and stops it from converting testosterone in the first place. This process can reduce the estrogen level in the blood by 85%, which reduces the amount of side effects received. The same process also means that more testosterone will remain in the blood, meaning the user can benefit from this, including a potential decrease in body fat and improved muscle definition.
The best way to use it
Since the most typical and well-tolerated dose of Exemestane is 25mg per day, the majority of pharmaceutical companies, including Natco Pharma, produced the drug in 25mg tablets. This means that, generally, 1 tablet is taken orally per day either for curing side effects or keeping estrogen levels controlled throughout a steroid cycle.
Some people may require less of the drug so they can decrease the frequency of use to every 2 days. The optimal dose for each individual will largely depend on how aromatizable the steroids taken are, as well as the dosage of the steroids used in the cycle. Therefore, it is advised to consult with a specialist in order to find the best dosage for yourself.
Normally, with the correct use of Aromasin, side effects do not appear. However, some people have noted a decrease in sexual desire, pain in muscles and joints, nausea, gastrointestinal upset, hot flushes, a depressed mood or insomnia.
